Are you willing to hose down your tandem during the salty season?

An agreement has now been reached to take water from the Workshop's neighbouring property, owned by Joe. David and Derek describe the initial cleaning method as being to apply TS10 (Muckoff) cleaning fluid, agitate with a brush, then a gentle spray rinse with water followed by a natural drying off in the Workshop. The tandems would then be safe from corrosion and ready for a more thorough cleaning by Mike Berry during the week. Could each tandem pair please do this on returning from winter rides?

Advance Notice of Annual Dinner

David Harrison announces the Annual Dinner as Friday, February 23rd. 2007. The venue is the Waterloo Hotel, Bury starting at 7.30 pm for 8pm at a cost of £17.50 per head. David reminds everyone that guests are very welcome and gifts are needed for the Raffle.

Cooperative Group Grant of £2500 for a 6 tandem trailer.

The Club has ordered a new purpose-built trailer available from Indespension Ltd. of Horwich. This will carry six tandems as opposed to our other old adapted motorbike trailer which only carried five. Thanks to John Robinson for securing this funding from the Co-op.

Things you wish you never knew about cycling

  1. Twenty minutes of gentle cycling burns up to 100 calories. This is comparable to one slice of bread and jam. Off course - WE NEVER CYCLE GENTLY!
  2. The energy equivalent of one litre of petrol will allow you to travel about 650 miles on a bike, thus saving you money to spend on TASTIER LIQUIDS!
  3. Regular cycling makes you fitter - as fit as an average person 10 years younger!
  4. After walking, cycling is the least polluting way of travelling.
