Lusso of Radcliffe have now completed an order for 55 club tops according to members' chest sizes. The next stage is to have the club logo and website printed on the back with the Gannett Trust sponsorship logo on the left sleeve. When this has been done, the tops will be distributed to members.
The car assisted ride starting from Lymm is on June 25 as per the enclosed rota. The next car assisted ride will be from Skipton on August 13 and the Peter Jackson Memorial Ride will be on September 17. You may like to write these dates in your diary.
This idea originated at a recent Committee meeting. It will shortly be in place. Bright new ideas, brilliant suggestions and even the odd complaint could be dropped in for consideration by the Committee!
A fundraising Shake-The-Tin collection will take place all day at the Prestwich Tesco on Tuesday August 29 2006. If you could spare a couple of hours on that day at a time to suit yourself, it would be much appreciated. Precise details nearer the time, but if you wish to reserve your spot, please contact Peter Carr.
This is booked for Saturday June 24. In the past, we have raised up to £1000 on this day. The sum raised is in direct proportion to the number of collectors, so please, if you can, spare a couple of hours to shake a tin.
We hold our Committee meetings about every six weeks at the Waterloo Hotel, Manchester Road, Bury. They had a charity night on Thursday March 2 and donated our club £100 as a result. We have written to thank them for their great generosity.
Corrosion due to road salt and perspiration does a noticeable amount of damage to our tandems, particularly in the bottom bracket area. If we could hose down the tandems with clean water after every ride and allow them to dry naturally in the workshop, this would prolong their life and prevent the need for frequent resprays. To provide a supply of water to the workshop plus adequate drainage could cost us up to £2000, according to enquiries. Do you know anyone who could help us to lay on water and drainage at a more reasonable cost?
